Compensation

The position is a full time, salaried position. Compensation is expected to be between $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 commensurate with skills, experience, and abilities.

Position Summary

This role is ideal for an individual passionate about leveraging technology to drive customer success and improved security within a collaborative, customer-centric culture at IX Solutions. The Senior Consultant, Modern Networking will deliver proactive and reactive security and endpoint management services to clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and fostering strong client relationships. This role involves remote and onsite implementations and support.

The Senior Consultant, Modern Networking collaborates with client stakeholders, other technical consultants, Client Leads and Account Executives to deliver proposed technical solutions and services the “IX Solutions” way. The position works to improve consistency in networking alignment, network services deployments, application patching, and helping our clients adopt a “cloud-first” model.

The position reports to the Manager, Service Delivery. The position works 40 hours per week, with business hours being 8:00am to 5:00pm MT/PT, Monday to Friday. There are occasional requirements for after-hours work including time sensitive client requests and project work. Balancing multiple priorities with deadlines is a requirement.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Provide consulting and technical guidance, coaching, and support to team members and clients.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for technologies within the Network team's technical purview.
  • Work with a team of other network consultants to provide network support and technical solutions to a broad range of clients.
  • Provide networking expertise to our other technical teams.
  • Participate in technical escalations.
  • Plan and execute network security implementation or migration projects.
  • Conduct network assessments.
  • Lead or participate in projects from initial assessment, creation of Statement of Work documents, estimation of time, technical design, planning, through to implementation and handover.
  • Provide guidance to clients on new technologies implemented, including training session/knowledge transfer.
  • Develop technical design and as-built documentation.
  • Develop new IX Solutions best practices, methods, procedures, and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Complete scheduled Managed Services health checks, implement incremental improvements and perform firmware and configuration updates in client environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client requirements and project objectives.
  • Deliver IT support, project planning (including the development of statements of work & work breakdown structures), and technical delivery of managed services to a broad range of clients.
  • Assist or lead projects from initial assessment, solutioning, design, and implementation.
  • Deliver recurring security services and monthly reporting to clients.
  • Maintain documentation related to IXS networking practices, client support and delivery processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for other teams, including participating in incident response and resolutions.
  • Onsite support, as required.

Qualifications/Expertise

  • 7+ years of directly relevant experience in a complex network environment.
  • Proven experience in wired network design and implementation to best practices.
  • Proven experience in wireless design and implementation to best practices.
  • Expert level knowledge of enterprise firewall management and configuration, including optimization and hardening.
  • Expert level knowledge of Azure IAAS cloud networking & firewalling.
  • Expert level knowledge of datacenter networking.
  • Expert level knowledge in the design of Security Services Edge platforms and implementation
  • Proven experience in the design, implementation, ongoing management, and upgrade of the following network technologies (or equivalent):
    • Aruba CX Switching.
    • Aruba AP Wireless.
    • Aruba Central Cloud Management.
    • Aruba Clearpass.
    • Azure Virtual Network, Gateway, VPN, network appliances, and related technologies.
    • Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki Switching.
    • Cisco Catalyst and Meraki Wireless.
    • Fortinet Firewalls, FortiSwitches, and FortiAP’s.
    • Fortinet FortiCloud, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
    • Palo Alto Firewalls.
    • Palo Alto Panorama.
    • Zscaler Security Services Edge Platform.
    • Cloudflare Security Services Edge Platform.
  • Previous focus on continuing education and training is a must.

Certifications and Learning (achieved at least one of, willing to work towards, or equivalent experience)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) or relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) or relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100) or relevant experience.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Next-Generation Firewall Engineer or relevant experience.

Accountabilities, Tasks and Duties

Client Relationships

  • Understand and interpret customer needs so we can provide excellent service levels.

  • Assist with the development of proposals and pre-sales exercises, including the presentation of technologies and solution proposals to clients and prospective clients.
